About Basildon Tennis

Non For Profit

We are a not-for-profit club. Our only aim is ensure that as many people as possible are able to take part in tennis, whether you are: an aspiring Murray / looking to dust off that racket in the garage / simply looking to start something new.

Everyone Welcome

We are able to cater for everyone. So give us a try, we are confident that you will want to stay, so the first social session is FREE.

Free Sessions

We love to welcome new members and guests along to the club. At your free session you will get to the meet coaches, interact with our members and really get a feel about what the club is all about. Our free sessions are open to everyone.

Coaching

We offer one to one and group coaching sessions for adults and children. Coaching can be a great way to help you learn or develop your game.

Free Session

Whether you’ve never held a racket or you’re a seasoned player looking for a new home — your first session at Basildon Tennis is completely free. No commitment, no awkward sign-up, just come and play.

Never Played Before? Perfect.

We welcome complete beginners every week. Our coaches and members will make sure you feel at ease from the moment you arrive. You don't need your own racket — just turn up.

At your free session you'll get to meet our LTA-licensed coaches and play alongside existing members. It's the best way to get a real feel for the club before you decide to join.

Coaching at Basildon Tennis

Children

Sarah is the head of junior coaching and is an LTA Level 2 Licensed Coach and has many years’ experience coaching all year groups of junior players.

Adults

Ogba is an LTA Level 3 Licensed Coach and has many years’ experience coaching all abilities. Experience teaching at clubs, schools and indoor centres.

Groups

We offer group coaching sessions for beginners and intermediate adults as well as group junior sessions for all age groups.

Cardio Tennis

If you want to find a way to keep fit and have fun or want to try tennis but are not sure if you want to take part in group sessions or social events, cardio tennis is the perfect way to start.

Our membership prices are among the most competitive in Essex. As a not-for-profit club, we keep costs as low as possible — and with pro-rata pricing, you only pay for the time remaining in the year.

Adults

All year round

Three floodlit hard courts open 365 days a year whatever the weather.

Social tennis

Monday evenings 6–9pm and Sunday mornings 10am–1pm every week.

Competitive play

Men’s, women’s and mixed teams compete in the local Essex leagues.
